The 2009 MTV Video Music Awards nominations have been announced. Beyoncé and Lady Gaga are up for nine categories each, with VMA queen Britney up for seven awards. The biggest battle of the night looks set to be between Kanye West and Eminem, who are up against each other in no less than four categories. All fives stars are competing for the biggest prize of the night - the Video of the Year award. The show will go out on MTV on 13 September, and will be hosted by Russell Brand for the second year in a row.
